Merlot is a French, but now more international grape. This Merlot Il Roncal is a wonderful wine. I had this wine initially not in sight because I especially looked forward to the indigenous grape of Friuli Venezia, but a test session could convince me. A small part of the grapes are dried in large drying rooms for a more intense flavor. Also, there is a ripened 20% a year in tonneaux.
